Calculate Now →SSAG low, mid, and high monthly ranges plus duration, calculated together with child support the way lawyers' software does it.
Calculate Now →Child support comes first. It is the right of the child, it is calculated from the paying parent's guideline income under the Federal Child Support Guidelines, and it takes priority over spousal support when ability to pay is limited. Spousal support is then assessed on what remains, using the SSAG with child support formula, which works from each spouse's net disposable income after child support, taxes, and benefits. Change the child support number and the spousal range moves with it, which is why our calculators compute both together.
In every support case, the contested ground is usually income. Salary is easy; dividends, retained earnings, personal expenses run through a corporation, and self-employment deductions are not. That analysis is where the outcome is won or lost, and it is the core of our practice.
